𼰠Treat Yourself to a Bit of YOU Time
Itâs time to refill your cup
Edition #126 | Read time: 5 Minutes
AhhhhâŚ.alone time. Hahaha⌠We know you just spit out your drink, laughing, because WHAT is ALONE TIME, right?
No but seriously, we NEED it.
We would never let our kids rush out to soccer practice or swim team if they werenât properly fueled, right? We wouldnât expect them to take those dreaded standardized tests without a good nightâs sleep first, would we?
So how can you expect YOURSELF to really be able to give 150% every day without so much as a deep breath in peace and quiet? (One way is to occupy your kids with Netflixâs fun, new Popcorn & Brainstorm podcast for kidsâŚthe link is below. Theyâll love it and leave you alone!)
In this issue weâre giving you all the reasons (and tools) you need to take a moment for yourself. You deserve it.
Plus, if you were a kid in the 90s, youâll want to keep reading â because the way we eat and the way we đŠ has drastically changed since thenâŚ
This week in The CARRY⢠ALL, weâre talking about:

2ď¸âŁ đ´ Weighted Eye Mask
We LOVE that the days are long at this time of year, and that the sun is shining bright. But that sun can wreak havoc on a midday nap or an early bedtime. Our solution?
The Alaska Bear Sleep Mask. This life saver provides 100% blackout, doesnât put pressure on your eyeballs, and contours to your face. Yes please. đââď¸
3ď¸âŁ đ How to Find Time for Yourself
As moms, we often put the needs of everyone else before our own. (Ever had to pee but first made sure everyone had what they needed to eat? We feel you.) Itâs so easy to be burned out, touched out, and on your last nerve, but you still pull yourself together so you can keep providing for your loved ones. Eventually, âpulling yourself togetherâ becomes harder to do when you havenât taken proper care of yourself.
This article provides some great ideas for finding that much-needed alone time. Our favorite? Stargazing after bedtime.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT đ¤
for working moms with older children
Fruit Roll Ups, Lunchables, ham sandwiches on white bread (do they even sell Wonder Bread anymore?!), Kool Aid. Ahhâthe diet of a kid who grew up in the 90s. Itâs a wonder weâre still alive, to be honest. If youâre in miraculously good health despite your 90s diet, and are doing everything you can to get actual nutrients into your own kids, youâll appreciate this article on the subject.
As parents, we skate the line of keeping our kids safe, and letting them be independent to make mistakes that they can learn from. But what about questionable activities? Those that could be safe in the right circumstances but have the potential for disaster? This Pediatric OR Nurse mom talks about the 5 things that sheâll never let her kids do. (Weâre looking at you, amateur fireworksâŚđ§¨)
Last weekâs poll results: Over 50% of you know youâre going through perimenopause or menopause!
âĄď¸ âI started in my late thirties and I am finally finished with the worst of menopause, except for the whole lack of estrogen and calcium problems that is, and I am fifty-six.â
âĄď¸ âI feel like maybe I might have some symptoms but they aren't severe, so maybe I'm notâ
âĄď¸ âTrust your intuition! I started experiencing symptoms when I was 39, and my previous GYN gaslit me - told me I was too young and that I needed anxiety medicine. She never even did any blood work. Fast forward two years with worsening symptoms, I found a different doctor who did a full hormone panel. I had really low levels and started hormone replacement therapy at 42. Such a huge difference! I still have perimenopausal symptoms, but the crippling fatigue, brain fog and anxiety have improved significantly. I have energy again and no longer feel like a horrible mom.â
