THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣
1️⃣ 💵 How to Save For Your Kids’ College Tuition
If you haven’t done the research recently, you might not know that the average cost for a year of in-state college tuition is currently at $28,840. One year of a private college? $60,420. 🫨 So if you have smaller children that you intend to send to college one day, those amounts will undoubtedly be even higher. But don’t stress—consider these tips as you begin your savings journey - especially setting up savings rules like recurring transfers and deposits.
2️⃣ 💼 Alternatives to College to Consider
For those of you who aren’t convinced that saving for college is the right choice, you’re not alone. Every day we hear countless stories of adults who are buried in student loan debt (long after they’ve paid the original amount of their loan, due to compounding interest.)😣 In fact, you might be one of them. It’s also painfully clear that not all college degrees will result in a lucrative job after graduation. That’s why it’s smart to consider apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, and trade schools - just three of countless options that young adults have aside from higher ed. We love the perspective on this side of things in this article. We’d love to hear your perspective on this in the comments!
3️⃣ 🎙️Paula’s Podcast Series on College Wraps Up!
Paula closes our her monthly podcast series on college, covering it from all the angles, including whether college is even necessary and right for your kid on her podcast, The Paula Faris Show. As a mom of three, she’s joined by experts that answer all your questions, plus her husband and teen daughter join the conversation.

If your teen is gearing up to start their college search, you’ll want to make sure that they’re making smart decisions about the process. Is a 4-year college right for them? How do fit and location come into play? And what about choosing a career path? Yikes. We love these tips for talking to your teen about all this and more.
Sending our kids off to college (let’s face it - they’re still our babies) can be full of so many emotions! Pride, sadness, fear, hope, and so much love. We can’t forget that often times, we’re not the only ones who will miss them. Their sweet siblings have to say goodbye as well. We love this reel because it just sums up the entire experience. 😭
Last week’s poll results: Nearly 40% of you worry more about your health as you age than how you look. Nearly 25% of you are freaked out by it all. Keep reading for a few of your thoughts and comments!
➡️ “Shifting my focus to “I want to be strong” instead of “I want to be skinny” has been so empowering as I get older, and it helps me focus on my health instead of my looks. Being healthy is what will keep me moving as I get older so that I can enjoy the time with my family and friends.”
➡️ “I didn't used to worry, but now you see celebrities all over the media who are in their 50s and look 30. This unattainable look hurts the average woman and society. The expectations are unrealistic and harmful!”
