Hi mamas!

We know, we know — most things in life aren’t a quick fix. But sometimes, when you’re momming and working and trying to keep your head above water, you need some go-to tactics to keep the important balls in the air. (DROP the unimportant ones, mama. It’s ok.)

This week we give you some easy go-tos when it comes to meal prep, getting over that mid-day energy drop and even connecting with your partner.

For mamas of older kids, we’ve included a resource to help you teach them to be more assertive. Because having kids who can speak up for themselves is a major parenting win.

THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

1️⃣  🥘 Healthy Meals to Prep on Sundays

If there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that being prepared as a working mom is the (not so) secret to success. And while Sundays are great for relaxing, they should also be for meal prep – if you want to tackle the week with as few road bumps as possible, that is. Here you can find 25 incredible dinners you and your partner can prepare ahead of time. They include everything from Mediterranean cuisine to carnitas burrito bowls. Have any others that you swear by? Let everyone know in the comments below! 👇🏻

2️⃣ ⚡️Get Energy During that Midday Slump

In this cold weather, it can be so easy to give in to that afternoon drop in energy. But instead of curling up in a ball and taking a nap, or reaching for yet another cup of coffee, you might want to consider giving yourself a natural boost of energy. Don’t let low blood sugar get the best of you. Our favorite tactics from this list include doing a downward dog, belting out a song, and getting some sunshine. How do you combat the midday slump?

3️⃣ 💞 How to Connect with Your Spouse in 30 Seconds

Let’s face it –  marriage takes work. But just because you’re not connecting with each other doesn’t mean you’re headed for divorce court. Sometimes life, work, and kids can make you feel more like your passing ships in the night rather than life partners. When things are hectic and you feel out of touch with your other half, try one of these quick ways to get on the same page again. Our favorite? Daily touch and sharing a laugh.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT 🤎

  • Even as adults, there can be a fine line between being polite and being taken advantage of. So when it comes to our teens and tweens, how do we teach them to be assertive, but also respectful? Rule following is important, but at some point our little ones will spend more time away from us than with us – and during those moments, we want them to be able to stand up for themselves. This article dives deep on how to teach our teens to be assertive. Got any tricks you like? Let us know in the comments!

  • Our teens are doing an amazing job navigating this incredibly stressful world, attempting to balance technology with real life, and figuring out their place as they mature into adults. But sometimes? We have to wonder if they were switched at birth. If you’ve ever caught any of @the_leighton_show’s reels about texts from teens, then you know how cringe-worthy some of them are. Here’s one of his latest to give you a laugh. (Spoiler: “I locked my keys in the car. Do I just break the window to get in?”)

Last week’s poll results: Over 80% of you plan to declutter this year! Keep reading for a few of your thoughts and comments!

➡️ “I signed up for Joshua Becker's "Uncluttered" course.”

➡️ “Decluttering is a constant process for me. I am always doing it. Particularly as my kids are growing & changing, their needs change, so the items that I have to keep in my home change.”

➡️ “I declutter a space once a month, for example, January I will declutter my master bedroom, February, the hall closet, etc. That way, I don't get overwhelmed in the task. I also use different colored bags. Black for donations (You have to hide the toys sometimes), white for garbage/recycling, and a plastic tote for giveaways to someone I know. I also keep a specific donation box in the hall closet for things that pop up suddenly like children's clothes that are now too small, etc.”

➡️ “With two kids under 4, I feel like I am constantly trying to declutter!! ”
