THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

1️⃣ 🙅🏽‍♀️ Protect Your Identity this Holiday Season

As if there weren’t enough to think about during the holidays, protecting your identity should be close to the top of your list. (Sorry kids, you’ll have to figure out your own costume for this year’s concert – mama’s got to freeze her credit!) In all seriousness, scams intent on capturing your private data run rampant during the holiday shopping season. The most common right now? Texts or emails saying that a package can’t be delivered, including a link for people to “reschedule” – which results in malware being downloaded. Stay vigilant and follow these safety tips to protect yourself. Find out why you’ll only want to shop at online stores with “https” in their address.

2️⃣ 👩🏻‍💻 How to Stay Motivated During December

With a busy social schedule, non-stop family gatherings, and school activities planned left and right, it can be downright IMPOSSIBLE to stay focused on work during the last month of the year. So how are we supposed to focus on making Q4 strong when we really just want to clock out and drink some eggnog? We found 5 ways to stay motivated, including avoiding multi-tasking! What are some things you’re doing to stay on track this month? Let us know in the comment section.

3️⃣ 🥘 Quick Appetizers to Bring Along

If you’ve been charged with bringing an app or a side dish to an upcoming holiday party, but don’t have the time to figure out WHAT to bring, we’ve got you. These options will all make you look like a fantastic guest. And since they take less than 30 minutes to pull together, you’ll actually have time to get yourself and the kids ready too! Our favorite? The fondue board!

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT 🤎

for working moms with older children
  • Whether you were in the party crew in college or hardly ever touch a drink, there’s no rule book on how to parent young adults as they enter their drinking years. When so many of us might have had unhealthy moments with alcohol, (or had parents who did), how do we teach what is “normal” – especially in service of keeping our kids safe? This mom’s insight on the matter – as a one and done drinker – might seem extreme. But even her approach hasn’t worked for one of her kids. How do you teach your kids about moderation when it comes to drinking? Share it in the comments for the community to read! 👇🏻

  • Here’s a great holiday tip from fellow mom Krista T!:
“Suggestion for your teens at Christmas time: encourage them to make a slide show for their gift list. At first, I thought my daughter was cray-cray when she sent me her PDF file of her gift slide show, but now I absolutely LOVE her for it! It made shopping a breeze, y'all! She's a bit extra, and even included the links for me. SCORE! I've saved time and my sanity, big time. Plus, you send the file to all the relatives who want gift ideas. It's a win-win. I'm not certain that this will work for your boy teens, but it doesn't hurt to try;) Cheers! Krista💜

Last week’s poll results: Nearly 50% of you said that when you negotiate with your kids, it’s 50/50 when it comes to who wins. Keep reading for a few of your thoughts and comments!

➡️ “I try to be pretty clear when things are open for negotiation and like to think I do a good job of not holding my ground just to prove that I can, but when something is non-negotiable, it's non-negotiable.”

➡️ “Negotiations are part of life. We do it all the time in business and in life in general as adults. As parents, we can teach our kids how to negotiate fairly. And as parents we know how far to take negotiations. I think it's a good 50/50 trade.”

➡️ “It’s about boundaries but also allowing them the chance to prove themselves capable.”
