How We’re Doing NYE (and Resolutions) This Year

Plus, we need your input heading into 2026 👀

The Carry All

Edition #206 | Read time: 5 Minutes

Hi Mamas -

If you have plans for sequins, to see the clock strike midnight, and a drink that didn’t come from a spill-proof cup, we love that for you. Truly. Enjoy every second. And if your New Year’s plans look more like sweatpants, snacks, and side-eyeing the clock at 8:47 pm wondering how it’s not even 9:00 yet, pull up a chair.

New Year’s is a dream for the goal-getters, the planners, the fresh-start enthusiasts. It can also feel like a total drudge for anyone limping to the finish line. The tired. The grieving. The burned-out.

Wherever you are heading into this new year, this is for you. Something light, something meaningful, something doable. And a virtual cheers from us to you 🥂

We’d love it if you’d share The CARRY™ ALL newsletter with another mama who needs it. Pass on the love with your referral link!

Enjoy!

Anything else you want us to know? What do you love most about THE CARRY™ ALL? What do you enjoy the least? Come on—give it to us straight. We want to know what you’re really thinking.

2️⃣    A Kid-Friendly NYE Countdown

Ringing in the New Year at home? Make it simple, magical, and fun! Watch the ball drop on YouTube, sip sparkling cider, start a family interview tradition, or create a 2026 bucket list. Try a silly trend like “Say on the Beat,” go old-school with magazines or vision boards, or have older kids make a Pinterest board of their dreams. Reflect on the year behind, dream about the year ahead, or just enjoy time with your people—there’s no wrong way to do it.

3️⃣   📝 A Gentle Take On Resolutions

2026 doesn’t have to be about overhauling your life or creating a brand-new you. We’ve heard that trope. Instead, we’re thinking the “small things that add up over time” route is the way to go. What if you tried this for now, at least?

  • Take It With You– What from 2025 worked well, brought you joy, or helped you grow? Keep it close and build on it.

  • Try Something New – A small experiment, habit, or curiosity you’ve been meaning to explore. Nobody’s grading you, okay? Do it for YOU. For the adventure. “Do it for the plot,” as the kids say. Do they still say that? We’re not sure.

  • Leave It Behind – What no longer serves you? The drama, the guilt, the endless “shoulds.” As Snoop would say, drop it like it’s hot.

A simple, slightly rebellious approach to the new year: less pressure but still working towards a 2026 of growth, FUN, and a year that reflects who you ARE and who you want to BE!

📰 IN THE NEWS

Working‑Mom Policy Win: Paid NICU Leave Coming in Colorado

Starting January 1, 2026, Colorado will expand its paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program to provide up to 24 weeks of paid leave for parents whose newborns require care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), so families won’t have to choose between being present and earning a paycheck. HELLO!! That’s big news for parents facing one of the hardest early‑parenthood moments.

Last week’s poll results: We asked how you’re feeling about the school break, and your answers were so relatable. Almost 50% of you said you’re most looking forward to family time, while 32% of you are simply ready for slower, cozier mornings. Whether it’s cherishing moments with your kids or enjoying a little extra rest, it’s clear moms are ready to embrace the break in whatever way feels best.

Here are a few things you had to say:

➡️ “As a teacher, it is also vacation time so it is the best!”

➡️ “Intentionally taking some much needed time away from work to spend time with the family. All about making memories!! ❤️☺️”
