Edition #203 | Read time: 5 Minutes

Hi Mamas -

You know the drill: closing out Q4, school concerts, work parties, last-minute gift shopping, all the holiday meals… and somehow you’re also supposed to take care of yourself. Bold of December to assume. 😂

This month, we’ve got your back — whether you’re negotiating holiday attendance like a tiny human hostage negotiator, surviving psychological warfare at the hands of a 12-inch elf, or just trying to make it through the season without losing your sanity.

Most importantly, let’s tackle this season with zero guilt about what gets done (and what doesn’t).

We’d love it if you’d share The CARRY™ ALL newsletter with another mama who needs it. Pass on the love with your referral link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Enjoy!

Is this the cutest heating pad ever?

Just pop this plush crustacean in the microwave and let its warm weight melt away period cramps, backaches, or any random aches life throws at you. This little guy is hilarious and functional – the perfect Secret Santa gift or stocking stuffer for this holiday season! Check out the rest of the Menstruation Crustacean gang, too.

THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

1️⃣ 👀 Addressing the “Elf” in the Room

The. Freaking. Elf.

Did you innocently invite Elf on the Shelf into your home years ago… only to now be living under his tiny, judgmental stare? Congratulations! You’ve joined the many parents currently being emotionally hijacked by felt pants and a plastic smile.

What started as “holiday magic” has become just one more nightly task on an already unhinged December to-do list.

Before you give him a dramatic one-way ticket back to the North Pole, we found some low-effort, high-reward ideas to keep him/her moving without requiring a glue gun, an engineering degree, or your last crumb of sanity.

PRO TIP: Set a nightly alarm after the kids go to bed so you don’t wake up in a cold sweat realizing the Elf is still sitting in yesterday’s spot.

2️⃣  🛍️ How to Outsmart Holiday Scammers

Because, apparently, the holidays weren’t already stressful enough… now you also have to worry about identity theft. It’s no surprise scammers go into overdrive during the holiday shopping season — and their goal is your personal info.

And with AI around every corner, it’s getting harder to tell what’s real and what’s not. The top scams to watch for this year HERE.

Bottom line: don’t click texts or emails you’re unsure about. Don’t panic. Don’t hand over your data like it’s candy. And absolutely do NOT fall for the notification that your package can’t be delivered and you need to “reschedule.”

Stay vigilant and follow these safety tips to protect yourself — including why you should only buy from websites that start with “https.” Because the only thing that should be sketchy this season is Uncle Joe’s eggnog recipe 🥴.

3️⃣  🥘 Easy Appetizers to Bring

If you’ve been charged with bringing an app or a side dish to an upcoming holiday party, but don’t have the time to figure out WHAT to bring, we’ve got you.

Any of these options will make you look like a culinary genius, and the best part? You’ll still have time to get yourself and the kids ready without breaking a sweat.

🔬 Big Shift on Hormone Therapy Warnings

The FDA is removing the long-standing warning on many menopause hormone-replacement therapies, saying older risk data is outdated. Experts say HRT can safely relieve symptoms like hot flashes and sleep disruption when personalized to a woman’s health.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT 🤎
for the empty nesters with a full house again

Having everyone back together for the holidays can be exciting… and, let’s be honest, a little stressful. Here are a few tips to survive (and actually enjoy) your temporarily full nest:

  • Give them space. Your adult kids are used to running their own lives. Let them have it. Enjoy the moments you do get together, get curious about their world, and ask open-ended questions — then actually listen.

  • Manage expectations early. While you probably want to soak up every second with them, remember they likely have other people to see too. Set clear times for family events and priorities, and invite them to share conflicts ahead of time.

  • Communicate your needs. They may want to relax, but so do you. Don’t wait for tension to build — ask them to help with meals, chores, or anything else so everyone can enjoy the season.

The holidays are about making memories, not running a flawless production. Embrace the chaos, savor the full house, and remember: it’ll be quiet again before you know it.

Last week’s poll results: It was a pretty even split across the board on how holiday shopping is going this year. For most of you, it looks like a good dent has already been made in the shopping — way to go! And for those still procrastinating… don’t worry, it always gets done, doesn’t it? 😉

Here are a few things you had to say:

➡️ “I have a list, I am getting thru it, but organizing what I have for the kids hasn't happened yet. I need tips on how to do that. Everything is just piled in my closet with hopes it doesn't fall on my head at some point!”

➡️ “I pasted last year's list of people to get gifts for into a new note on my phone on Black Friday this year...no ideas what to get anyone yet.”

➡️ “I feel the pressure but don't have the energy or the spirit to do any shopping. Everything is so expensive! Not sure what I will do this year.””

➡️ “I am hopeful for a peaceful December. Bought all my gifts and most are now wrapped!”
