Helping You Make Magic ✨

With some last minute tips & stocking stuffers

The Carry All

Edition #152 | Read time: 5 Minutes

Mamas, it’s the home stretch….we’ve got this!

This week, we’ve got your back.

🎄 Last minute stocking stuffers? ✔️

🎄 Lightening your gift-wrapping and entertaining load? ✔️

🎄 Help for you and your stressed out teen? ✔️

But beyond all the magic making, we want to stress one important thing: take care of yourself. It can be SO easy to put everyone else first, and to be honest, society sadly celebrates this. However, don’t forget to say YES to yourself and do something that brings YOU joy, especially this holiday season. Don’t try to be a mommy martyr (we’ve all been there and it doesn’t end well).

Get that peppermint mocha, pick up that book and unwind for 15 minutes, put on those comfy clothes and close your eyes on the couch when you feel like you should be doing something else. You’ve earned it.

Enjoy!

This week in The CARRY™ ALL, we’re talking about:

  • Hand Over the Reins on Some of that Holiday Magic

  • 🎁 Make Next Week Easier with These Finds

  • 🎅🏻 Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

1️⃣ 🙅🏽‍♀️ Hand Over the Reins on Some of that Holiday Magic

We talk A LOT about the invisible mental load in this newsletter. And every mom knows how much more that increases during the holiday season. On top of everything else, we need to now become holiday card designers, Santa Claus and Martha Stewart — and also move the damn Elf…we could go on and on.

But make sure that you’re also staying on top of your job, working out, getting ample sleep, meal planning, and chauffeuring everyone around! We love @sheispaigeturner for her take on the mental load, but we especially love this post about your partner getting involved to make magic this season.

2️⃣ 🎁 Make Next Week Easier with These Finds

If you’re going to carry the holiday load this year, let us give you a hand. Here are some quick items to add to your cart to make life easier in the next week:

Adorable Christmas gift tags – just peel and stick!

Wrapping paper cutter – no more fumbling with scissors!

Christmas Gift Bags – Saying no to wrapping paper? This is the answer.

Giant Coloring Table Cloth for the kids table – keep them busy while they sit there!

12 Games of Christmas – keep everyone laughing with this family-friendly game

3️⃣ 🎅🏻 Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

Need to fill a stocking or give a last-minute gift you weren’t prepared for? Here are some great ideas they’ll love!

For the Kids
Remember the Slinky? It’s time your kids had one of their own! And how about these glow in the dark Christmas tattoos? When in doubt, let Lego save the day.

For Her

Let her relax with Shower Steamers aromatherapy. And who doesn’t love some Burt’s Bees Essentials? Help her recover from the insanity of the holidays with under eye patches.

For Him

He’ll never stop talking about this multi-tool pen. And what guy doesn’t love to have a flashlight handy in every room of the house? He’ll be pumped to keep the car clean with this putty – even the kids will help!

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT 🤎

for working moms with older children
  • Struggling to parent your teens? This mom has a theory: you might not know your kid. Sure, you might have known the younger version of them. But right now, have you gotten to know all their friends, what they like to eat and drink, what they prefer to wear, and what they truly love spending their time doing? Without really knowing the person your kid has become, it can be incredibly hard to connect with them, and in turn parent them. What are your thoughts on this? We’d love to know in the comments!

  • Believe it or not, teens are often just as overwhelmed with the holiday season as we are – but for different reasons. While they aren’t busy hanging lights or buying gifts for everyone, they are thrown off their routines. They might also be stressed from seeing more distant family members, dealing with family drama, and even being triggered by grief. While parents can’t necessarily alleviate all that stress, there are a few things they can do to help, like empowering them to create healthy boundaries. Does your teen get stressed at this time of year?

Last week’s poll results: Over 40% of you said that you take some measures to protect your identity, but could do more. Keep reading for a few of your thoughts and comments!

➡️ “I feel like my personal information has been compromised so many times I can't keep up. I take the credit monitoring offered at every breach and I barely remember my passwords, so I am always changing them anyway! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

➡️ “Yes, I am trying to prevent identity theft!”
