We’re geeking out over the data that Moms First and The Adecco Group shared in their recent report about working motherhood — because who doesn’t love cold, hard data to back them, right?

The study goes on to say that while 63% of moms said their co-workers were understanding of last-minute changes to their schedules due to childcare responsibilities, only 34% said their workplace culture actually encouraged calls/meetings not to be scheduled at times inconvenient to parents of young children.

Hmm…

To this we say three things:

1️⃣ Kudos to our coworkers who are fostering inclusive workplaces for working parents.
2️⃣ Moms, don’t be afraid to #parentoutloud. Add things like “School Pick-Up” or “Parent-Teacher Conference” to your schedule.
3️⃣ Employers, for the love, listen to the weary voices of your working moms. We want to keep working — we just need your help to make it feasible.

If you’re in need of a new after school routine as a guide to hand to your nanny or your kids but you don’t have the bandwidth to create one, have you tried AI?

Here’s a sample prompt we used — but feel free to feed the robot your specifics:

You're the new super fun after-school nanny for my kids, ages 5 and 9. When they get off the bus at 2:45 PM, you're downstairs with them and I'm upstairs in the office working until around 5 PM.

Please generate a routine complete with snacks, homework, outside play, and chores that is FUN for them.

If possible, please also slate about 15-minutes for you to start dinner prep.This can be while they do homework or play inside or something.
