THE BIG 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣

1️⃣ 🎙️ Peri-menopause + Menopause on The Paula Faris Show

Our founder, Paula, just finished a month-long series on perimenopause and menopause and why we just don’t feel like ourselves. She’s joined by friends, experts like Dr. Mary Claire Haver, and even her husband, to address the very real, very life-altering hormonal changes going on and how we can get the help we deserve! Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

2️⃣ 📖 The New Menopause Book

We just mentioned Dr Haver, one of Paula’s expert guests on the podcast. She also penned the #1 New York Times bestseller, The New Menopause. While menopause is inevitable, Dr. Haver insists that suffering through it is not. This authoritative, science-backed book includes a comprehensive A to Z toolkit of options, plus helping you determine the myriad symptoms (yes, Burning Tongue, Itchy Ears, Anxiety, Tinnitus are among the hundreds). If you’re in your 30’s and experiencing changes that just don’t feel right, you’ll want to check this out.

3️⃣ 🏋🏻‍♀️ Building Strength at Any Age

Not yet in your late 30s and not experiencing peri-menopause symptoms? We gotchu, mama. Dr. Haver said that she wishes she could go back and tell her younger self to not “give a sh**” what she looked like in a bikini 👙 and instead focus on being STRONG. That’s because building muscle is crucial for women of all ages and prevents disease, plus improves our quality of life as we get older. We love this article that highlights the benefits of strength training for women, including improving bone density, enhanced metabolic rate, and stress reduction.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT 🤎

for working moms with older children
  • If you’ve been nervous about allowing your teen to hop on the social media train, you’re not alone. To address parents’ (founded) concerns, Meta recently released a Teen Account for Instagram. The photo-sharing app separates teens into two categories: 13-15, and 16-17, and both are meant to protect kids from bullying and from overuse. Here’s the question: can there really be “safe” social media for teens? Let us know what you think in the comments below. 👇🏽

  • Want happy teens and preteens? While there is no magical secret to ensure your older kids are going to be happy all the time, there are things you can do to improve their everyday well-being. This article touches on several tactics, including things like consistently giving your child praise and attention, and encouraging them to try new things. What do you think?

Last week’s poll results: 95% of you work carry the mental load for your families! Keep reading for a few of your thoughts and comments!

➡️ “Society has trained women/moms to carry the load. We give no expectations of our men to do so. We need to do better and teach our boys how to do this so when they grow up they can be the best Dads/Spouses. Know better, do better!”

➡️ “Since I WFH and my husband works outside the house, it’s never a question which of us is taking the kids to appointments, caring for a sick kiddo during work, doing the laundry/dishes, etc. Maybe it’s magic, maybe it’s always me.”

➡️ “Mainly I'm the organizer & keep things on track. But yes that's a heavy load even tho my hubby does other things to help the family run.”
